Software Feature Releases

iOS 9 Certification

The Ooyala HTML5 Player V3 and Ooyala mobile SDK for iOS are now certified for iOS 9.

The following are known issues for the Ooyala mobile SDK for iOS.

  • iOS 9 Playback does not work unless you disable App Transport Security. To maintain playback on iOS 9 devices, disable App Transport Security.
  • iOS 9 Playback does not work unless you disable the "Enable Bitcode" flag. To maintain playback on iOS 9 devices, disable the "Enable Bitcode" flag.
  • Picture in Picture (PiP) playback for iPad is currently not supported for the mobile SDK for iOS using iOS 9. Support for this feature will be available in an upcoming release.

Enable CORS for Your V3 Players

All resources (video, audio, images, closed captions, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) that are part of the Player V3 or can be used by the Player V3 must be Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) enabled. Set up CORS enablement on the CDN you use for content serving. For information on how to enable CORS, see http://enable-cors.org/.
Note: These CORS prerequisites do not apply if you are using Ooyala-hosted content, as CORS is enabled for all Ooyala-hosted domains. This requirement applies to remote assets, etc.
